The Ultimate Wave Riding Instrument for Advanced Foilers

Although the Flux remains Omen's mainstay, for those with the experience and desire to push their connection with the ocean's energy even further - the smaller sizes of the Emissary deliver more for less.

Feel More Connected than Ever

Along with the obvious gain in length and reduction in width, the hull shape has been optimized for even greater efficiency at takeoff. While this comes at the cost of some of the incredible ease of use the Flux is known for, it provides the ability to further downsize your board without any loss of low end.

For wingers, the boards are designed to be ridden around 55% of bodyweight in kg and paired with a mid length for very light wind days or simply riders who surf foil or mountain bike when it's blowing 10 knots! Despite this, prepare for your crew to be shocked at just how light of wind you'll be getting on foil with such a small board.

Prone Foil Excellence: Work Less, Ride More

Dedicated prone foilers will find themselves sizing up a few liters from their standard board and enjoying the increased paddling speed. The construction and shape provide a responsive and nimble feel with smooth touchdown recovery at any angle of impact with the water. The wide point has been pushed further forward to make pop ups more stable than one would expect given the dimensions.

Each Emissary is shipped with our new deckpad material factory installed. Being dedicated wave boards, the Emissaries have no strap inserts to maximally reduce weight. For a board more suitable to jumping and freestyle check out the Flux.

**By popular demand we are doing a limited run of Emissary boards with inserts which will be completed end March, message us to reserve or make a note in your order to specify a board with inserts.

Confidence inspiring

The combination of touchdown recovery, responsiveness, and low centre of gravity during water starts will have you feeling like a hero in the wildest conditions.

Zero-rocker through the standing area of the deck and a slightly more aggressive concave than the Flux provides a comfortable and locked in feeling while riding strapless.

Despite the narrower hull design, careful dimensioning of the standing area along with a full coverage deck pad ensures heel and toe pressure is effectively translated into powerful signals to your foil.

Smooth Cross Over

Similar to the Flux, the Emissary is perfectly suited to both wing and prone foiling.

Our philosophy is that regardless of the power source used to get on foil, the parameters of a great wave foil board remain the same. So rather than a compromised design the Emissary is the perfect two in one.

Non-Linear Scaling

Each size has been engineered to fit a specific weight of rider, rather than the more versatile size range of the Flux. Those around or under 150lbs should consider the 35L, 140 - 190lbs the 44L, and 170 - 225lbs the 55L. The driving factor for the width of each board is to maintain just enough deck space for the ideal stance to ensure uncompromised control over high aspect foils during critical turns. For this reason, the rail shape at the top of the board has been sharpened and the deck pad extends as far out as possible.

For those familiar with the Flux, you can size down one level in the Emissary (60L -> 55L, 48L -> 44L, 40L -> 35L) for an all round performance improvement at the expense of a more demanding learning curve. The 55L is also an excellent all rounder/one board quiver for smaller riders.

Made in the EU

The Emissary is built to last. The Appletree factory in Portugal applies a full carbon layup over a CNC cut closed-cell foam core. Vacuum resin infusion technology is used to saturate the cloth and achieve the ideal fiber to resin ratio to optimize stiffness and durability.

This process is what allows Appletree to create a permanent bond to their proprietary foam core, and uniquely results in a board that will not be damaged by water ingress - even if the outer skin is damaged.

Along with their world renowned track reinforcing technology, the Emissary is a board you can rely on to maintain peak performance for years to come.

Two board omen quiver beginner…

I started foiling this year to augment/overtake my time surfing. Bought a couple wings, a foil and an omen supermarine. Love that board but wanted to quickly progress and try winging something smaller (which I could also use prone). So at 80kg and about 50 total hours into my foiling journey spoke to Greg and made the plunge for a 55l emissary.

While it took more work to get going compared to the supermarine it was instantly apparent how responsive the smaller board is and ability to push through carving turns. To be fair my initial challenge wasnt even the board it was balancing a sinker while trying to get the wing up in the air. Once the wing was up in the air the board was instantly on plane, popped right up and off to the races. My foiling immediately improved in a single session because of a board. The emissary is such a fun board to foil. It gets up on plane and foil quickly, if I touchdown it comes right back up, and is just so responsive turning and pumping. I nailed almost ever single turn in my first session. If I do mess up carving around I can correct more easily and usually pump myself out of mistakes. Can’t wait to get this board on smaller and smaller foils and bigger and bigger swell.

So stoked on these boards and they cover everything I need starting my first year of foiling (3 months so far). I was initially apprehensive that learning on a supermarine may have been too big of a step and getting a sinker within my first few months may have be too quick. But I couldn’t have been more wrong or addicted.

Moving forward I suspect my two board quiver use will ultimately split on whether the wind is above or below 15 knots.

Switched from Flux 48 to Emissary 44

Really not a problem at all to make transition from 48 to 44. Only upsides for 44. Earlier pop up. Lower volume actually more stable to start as it sits under water line but not as low as full sinker. More responsive due to lower volume/weight. Good choice to do away with inserts. My weight 145 pounds.

Emissary: the torpedo of fun

I loved my Omen Flux 40l board and it transformed my winging. The day I tried it, I went home with it. And then I met Emma. After Greg designed the Emissary, he recommended it to me as a Foil Drive board but also said, “try it winging and tell me what you think.” Here is what I think. The Emissary rips. I call it the torpedo. She slices and dices like a sashimi chef. To say the Emissary is easy to start is an understatement. Wait for the gust, point downwind and you’re up. No effort, all grace. If you want to make tight turns, this is your board. If you want to have a giant smile pasted on your face, this is your board. If you want to ride a smaller foil and fly a smaller wing, this is your board. If you like to rip upwind? The Emissary is the answer! The amount of thought, engineering and design that Omen has put into board development is evident in the shredability of their boards. If you want to take your foiling experience to the next level, buy yourself an Omen. You won’t regret it and your fun factor will be higher than you ever imagined. The responsiveness is unmatched. I ride the 35l Emissary for wing foiling and Foil Drive. Emma for the win.

Loving this board

I got the emissary a few months ago but haven’t been able to use it due to crappy conditions and cold weather. I live in Florida so the waves are usually pretty weak and crumbly. I went out the last few days and started on my 50 liter appleslice to get back into the swing of things. Although it’s a great board it tends to get bogged down in choppy surf and does not always release easily from the water. I decided to take the emissary out right after a session on the apple slice and the difference was night and day. The emissary released from the water easily and I was able to get up on foil without much difficulty at all. I use a foil drive and after a couple of sessions with the emissary I was getting about twice the amount of time on the water. It’s much more efficient and is much lighter in comparison to my other boards. I’m really pleased with it so far and can’t wait to get back out on the other water .

Omen Emissary 44L

I've had the board for a few months, but didn't want to write a review until I returned from a recent trip to La Ventana as I hadn't been able to use it much at home. I live on a mountain lake, where the wind is up and down, the air is thin and it can be difficult short period chop when it's proper windy / gusty. I have the 60L Flux and found no compromise using this size board for me at 82KG, 40 years old and a skilled winger. The 44 became a bit more difficult, definitely needing more wind in the sail as the only true moment of compromise on the smaller board is getting from under the water to up and planning. Once you are up and planing, the board is a rocket. So, I had a few frustrating moments where I'd attempt to get up and fall more than usual as that critical moment is a bit more challenging where I live. Fast forward to La Ventana where I just was for 4 days of good to very good wind and the board was extremely easy to get rolling, super fun to ride on and very forgiving when touching down. Between salt water and consistent sea level wind, it just wasn't hard and I'd take the 44 every time to enjoy the sportiness when riding. For where I live, the 55 may be a better mix of compromise, which is in line with Greg's recommendations. So, my recommendation would be, if you're between sizes, if you're semi skilled and fit and have quality wind, try the smaller size. If your wind is just OK or you don't want that slight extra moment of physical skill required to get the smaller board rolling, size up. They will both rip. I don't prone foil, so no comments there, I only wing foil and was deciding between 44 and 55 as I imagine many might, so I thought I'd offer my comments. For me the 44 is my only board in quality locations, probably the 55 if I only want 1 board to do it all and not be worried about it, especially at home in mountain wind. I'll probably end up with both cause the 44 is super fun!
