For prone foiling I’ve been running the 80cm and recommending most others consider the same. While I used to like the 75cm to enable shallower take-offs on small days with my 40L Flux, this benefit has been offset having switched to the 66L Emissary as the higher floatation provides more clearance for mast length. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI think most prone foilers will have more fun with a one mast, two board quiver like this rather than two masts. Namely, the 85cm is more forgiving riding upwind, while the 80cm is a bit more efficient downwinding. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor progressing wingers I suggest the 85cm as riding hard upwind is such a key part of increasing the fun:struggle ratio on the water, and as you progress you will come to appreciate the extra length when learning to lean harder into carves. For parawinging I’d reverse this, as most folks at the early stages primarily need the most help staying on foil while downwinding and will benefit more from the drag reduction of the slightly shorter mast.
